Captain's Blog 16 June 2011

On Saturday evening we play the Leinster semi final against Dublin. This is the biggest game of our year to date.

Dublin are the form team so far in 2011 and after their league final win, a lot of people are tipping them to have a very good championship campaign. The Westmeath game on June 4th was our first game of the this years championship. While we won the game by nine points in the end, we would feel that we have a lot of room for improvement and over the last few weeks we have been working hard on the training ground trying to the everything right for the 18th. Preparations have gone well and we are all looking forward to the weekend. Unfortunately we still have a few injuries, Ger Farragher, Irlaith Tannian and Niall Donoghue are still out but are making progress and hopefully they will be back in action soon.

The Championship is where every player wants to perform. When training starts in the winter months the main aim is to get to the summer and the championship. We are no different, so Saturday can not come quick enough now. Hopefully everything will go well in Tullamore.
