Andy Smith, David Collins, John Lee & Ciaran O’ Donovan were the four names pulled out of the hat to take part in the shave or dye campaign two weeks ago and in fairness the lads didn’t disappoint - they all went for the zero blade option!!.. So far the lads have raised over €2,000 in total and there is still some money coming in. Thanks to everyone who supported this campaign.

Last weekend we travelled to Pairc Ui Chaoimh to play Cork in the 3rd round of the National league. We were pretty slow to start but got back into the game after half time and probably had chances to win it in the end. Cork got the last few scores however to take the win by 3 points. It makes Sunday’s home game against Kilkenny very important in terms of staying close to the Top of the league table. Kilkenny are unbeaten so far in the competition so it’s a big opportunity for us. The last time we met was in last years Leinster final - Kilkenny were well on top that day.

We still have a lot of injuries in the squad and we picked up some more knocks at the weekend. Hopefully everyone who was available last week will be ok for Sunday again. The U-21 players are being encouraged to rest up a bit this week as they had a hectic schedule last weekend with club games on Saturday evening as well.

Hopefully there will be a good crowd in Pearse Stadium on Sunday. This is an important game for us so every bit of support is welcome.

Finally, on behalf of the squad I would like to wish Clarinbridge the very best of luck in the All Ireland club final on St Patrick’s day in Croke park.
